Rice (Basmati & Non-Basmati)

Exact export value (US $ million) – 12,952.73 (1.08 lakh crore in Indian rupees)

India became the world’s largest rice exporter in FY 2024-25. Farmers across Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Telangana grew more rice than ever before. When the government removed the export ban in Sept 2024, millions of gunny bags started moving to ports. Within 6 months, India sent rice to 172 countries and earned 1.08 lakh crore.

In African homes, mothers there now cook Indian parboiled rice because it is good and low in price. In the middle-east, people enjoy long basmati grains grown by small farmers near Delhi. Everyday huge ships leave Indian ports carrying rice worth crores of rupees.

In American supermarkets, frozen Indian shrimp sells within hours. In Japan, restaurants serve Indian Squid with trust. The money from Shrimp has changed thousands of coastal villages.

Meat, Diary & Poultry Products

In Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra, farmers raise strong buffaloes. The meat is processed in clean factories and sent to many countries. India earned 42,500 crore in 2024-25 from buffalo meat exports. Workers in these factories now have steady jobs and good salaries. Young men who used to migrate to cities for work, now staying in their villages and supporting their families.

In London supermarkets, Indian mangoes sell at high prices. In Dubai, housewives choose Indian onions for their curries. This has bought health and wealth to both farmers and buyers.

Sugar & Molasses

Sugar mills in Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh worked round the clock. Farmers received better prices for sugarcane. In 2024-25, India exported sugar worth 20,000 crore to neighbouring countries.

Coffee

Coffee gardens in Karnataka and Kerala produced excellent beans. When other countries had less coffee, India supplied more. In 2024-25, exports earned 15,000 crore. Tribal families who pluck coffee beans now send their children to college.

Women in Assam and Darjeeling pluck tender tea leaves with care. In 2024-25, India exported tea worth 9,250 crore. Workers earn regular wages and live with respect.

Maize from Gujarat and millet from Rajasthan reached African breakfast tables. India earned 8500 crore from these exports in 2024-25. Farmers who grew grains only for home use now own tractors and motorcycles.
